Improving Population Health Conference

The field of population health science continues to grow, but until now there has been no shared professional space to cultivate innovative exchange among diverse researchers. Bill TierneyAlex Garcia and Lourdes Rodriguez will take part in a panel on building the Department of Population Health along with Mark Hayward, director of the Population Health Initiative, for "Improving Population Health: Now, Across People’s Lives, and Across Generations to Come." On the first day of the conference, Mark McClellan will take part in the keynote panel.

The conference is part of a series of designed to foster a "culture of health" in the U.S. and improve population health by creating innovative partnerships between researchers and stakeholders in different institutional settings from multiple disciplinary backgrounds. Connecting researchers from disparate disciplines to better understand the complex and multiple determinants of health and health disparities can generate new knowledge to advance population health.
