Interprofessional Collaborative Practice Course: Bringing students together from Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Social Work

The Foundations of Interprofessional Collaborative Practice course launched into Spring 2107 semester with a focus on application of interprofessional collaborative practice competencies. With 266 students from pharmacy, medicine, social work and nursing working on interprofessional teams, the 2nd semester of interprofessional education tackles clinical applications using team-based care. The topics include: Team Communication in Addiction Care, Applying TeamSTEPPS® Tools to Transitions in Care, Team Communication Palliative Care, and Team Error Disclosure. This dynamic, interactive course is designed to change the future of health care by providing future health care practitioners with the competencies needed to deliver high quality, team-based care.
